We have received reports that an anti-virus tool (AVG 2011) is reporting RecAll version 2.8 and RecAll-PRO version 1.8 are infected with a virus. At the moment we do not know whether this is a false-positive. The anti-virus checker we normally use does not report a problem. Until we can gain better confidence, we are suspending downloads of these versions.
We have now released updated versions that do not trigger warnings from AVG.
(As a side-effect of how we built these versions to not trigger anti-virus warnings, these new versions are not compatible with WinME or Win2k. We may eventually discover a way to resume compatibility with these Windows versions in future updates.)
Previous versions are not affected, which may downloaded here:
For customers that want to do their own tests, the download links to RecAll v2.8 and RecAll-PRO 1.8 are provided in this sentence, but explore at your own risk.
If you have already downloaded RecAll 2.8 and RecAll-PRO 1.8, we recommend you do a full system anti-virus scan with updated virus definitions. Further information will appear on this web site.
